Yearly, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) distributes an updated list of produce that is highly recommended to be organic, called the Dirty Dozen, while the clean 15 has been found to have the least amount of pesticide residue. If you’re on a budget, stick to the Dirty Dozen’s list when buying organic, but if need be, you don’t have to purchase the produce off the Clean 15’s list.
So, what’s defined as organic?
Raised or conducted without the use of drugs, hormones, or synthetic chemicals
Still not convinced? Do you really want to be consuming pesticides that have been seen to cause neurological, reproductive and endocrine disorders and/or chronic disorders?
Remember this list next time you’re at the local supermarket!
